The pleasure derived from growing plants in a greenhouse can be immense but the relationship between gardeners and the plants is very different under glass.
This is because the gardener has to provide everything that the plant needs, from water to pest control. While maximising the light entering a greenhouse is important, for some species reducing the amount of light is as important. In addition to the quantity of light, some plants need specific lengths of dark to stimulate them to flower. In this course, the student chooses the group of plants they find most relevant to them. This may be the pursuit of a serious hobby, or it may be in the course of your work in a commercial nursery or botanical garden.
